About 1 in 2 Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetimes

1 in 4 will die from the disease

Cancer Computer is currently the #1 provider of computing power for cancer research on the Open Science Grid

How We Help

How We Help

Scientists need timely access to the right technology to find a cure that could save the life of a friend or loved one.

Cancer Computer was founded in 2015 to help provide leading scientists and cancer researchers with the computing power they need to help find a cure for cancer.

All around the world cancer researchers, scientists and academic organizations are changing the face of cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, but many are waiting for months or even years for a slice of time on a supercomputer.

Our goal is to ensure that researchers have fast, subsidised, and in many cases free, access to the computer hardware, processing capacity and technical support they need to save lives.

With your support, we are helping researchers spend more of their valuable time computing the cure for cancer.

Our Three Pillars Of Support

Our Research Grid

Our Research Grid

We are computing the cure in our 6 supercomputing clusters in Ottawa, Montreal, Kitchener, Bloomington, Minneapolis, Salt lake City, and Urbana-Champaign. Through generous donations, we are adding more capacity every year.

Supporting Our Researchers

Supporting Our Researchers

We want researchers focusing on breakthroughs. Cancer Computer helps by providing user and technical support to ensure the focus remains on #ComputingForTheCure.

Storing Researcher's Data

Storing Researcher's Data

We do data storage differently. Cancer Computer offers storage to scientists in the hundreds of terabytes range, and do our best to accommodate researchers' long-term needs for storing their valuable data.

Our Stories

With help from people like you, Cancer Computer has provided researchers with over 15,000,000 hours of supercomputing power.
